July 1 is the deadline to register for entering the 2017 Ohio State Fair Horticulture and Floriculture competitions. Details can be found HERE.
OAGC members will again host a Membership Outreach project during the Ohio State Fair run, July 26 through August 6, 2017. In collaboration with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, we again will use our expertise to plant landscape improvements at the Natural Resources Park at the fairgrounds. Come join our first workday there on May 15 at 9:30.
During the fair, OAGC will share about activities and membership advantages of OAGC with fairgoers of all ages. We need volunteers who will serve a few hours engaging visitors at our display with information and demonstrations. We also may have a day we dress in historical costume to demonstrate life as it was decades earlier at the old log house.
Volunteers will receive free fair admission and parking and may enjoy the rest of the fair when not on shift for OAGC. OAGC executive officers will have sign-up sheets at our spring Regional Meetings, but you can also email email@example.com your interest. You are also encouraged to participate in or visit the Ohio State Fair’s Amateur Floral Arts competition in the nearby Nationwide Donahey AG/Hort Building.
