OAGC Trip to elkhart county, in
quilt gardens
The annual, award-winning Quilt Gardens along the Heritage Trail join quilting, gardening, and art into a one-of-a-kind event featuring super-sized, hand-painted Quilt Murals and more than one million vibrant blooms in gigantic Quilt Gardens.
This colorful patchwork of quilt-inspired gardens and hand-painted, quilt-themed, super-sized murals delivers dazzling views in the communities of Bristol, Elkhart, Goshen, Middlebury, Nappanee, Shipshewana, and Wakarusa. It's the only experience of its kind in the world!

Depart Lima, Ohio at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 8, 2025
(Specific location will be provided prior to the trip)
Travel to Goshen to see three quilt gardens, then on to Shipshewana to see two more gardens and a quilt shop or two, and on to Middlebury where we'll spend the night at Essenhaus Inn. At Essenhaus you can browse gift shops, have dinner at Das Dutchman Essenhaus, and enjoy the Burst of Joy Garden.
The following morning, July 9, 2025 we'll travel through Bristol, and then on to Elkhart seeing four-five more gardens before returning back to Lima about 7:00 pm.
Your registration fee includes motor coach transportation and a boxed lunch as we travel to Indiana. Breakfast at Essenhaus is also included.
You are responsible for making your own hotel reservations.
Call Essenhous Inn at 574-825-9471 for hotel reservations. Use the group code rate: Ohio Association of Garden Clubs. All rooms are double queen. Reservations need to be made by June 9th.
- Breakfast is included and served daily beginning at 6:30am.
- Inn rooms have refrigerators, coffee makers and hair dryers. Not all rooms have microwaves. However, common area microwaves are located in the central Atrium and the Breakfast Room.
- Our indoor pool, hot tub, exercise and game rooms are open 7am-10pm.
- Individual room cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- Room rates are $169.00 + taxes.
